Male breast cancer 4.8
I’m a Sydney-born writer, internet publisher, and breast cancer patient activist.
Advice to newcomers: Find the best surgeon you can by asking others who have had this surgery. Ask plenty questions pre-op and post-op.
Upon diagnosis, in March 2014, with Stage IIIB IBC, I was treated with chemotherapy, a single left-side mastectomy and axillary clearance, with 2 out of 23 nodes positive for cancer, had 33 doses of radiation, and am now on tamoxifen.
Two years later I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had a prostatectomy. Currently I’m NED (no evidence of disease) for both cancers.
I am a regular on Twitter and contribute to various closed breast and prostate cancer Facebook pages. I also write articles and create videos.
