Advice to newcomers:

1) Find a plastic surgeon you are comfortable with, and who answers your questions. If you are not comfortable, get another opinion.

2) Find out if nipple sparing or sensation sparing is an option. 

3) Radiation can really affect the final results. Talk with your surgeon about any ways to assist with this, such as a compression band to keep expanders/implants in place.

6 weeks post-double mastectomy with tissue expanders (skin and nipple sparing). Implants to be placed next year.
