Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer – Expanders to implants 4.4
Diagnosed with triple negative metastatic breast cancer in 2019, the surgery that followed was a bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders placed.
Due to needing a brain MRI in Summer of 2021, the expanders were removed because the magnet in them isn’t compatible with the MRI machine. The plan is to have expanders placed again in the future.
Once expanders are placed and gradually filled again, the skin will be able to expand again, and the tissue will be made ready for implants.
